After won on survival show WIN: Who Is Next, Team A finally debuted officially as WINNER on August 6, 2014 as the first boy group YG ever debuted the past 8 years. 2014 S/S was released online on August 12, 2014 and offline on August 14, 2014. The album consists 10 songs. One of the songs, "Empy" was actually written and composed by Team B, B.I and Bobby, but they gave it as a gift for WINNER's debut.
Soon after released, WINNER topped No. 1 iTunes in 5 countries, No. 2 in Japan's Oricon Chart, No.1 Billboard World Album chart and No. 6 on Heatseekers Album chart. They also got all kill in 9 South Korea chart. 5 days after their debut stage at Inkigayo, WINNER won their first winning and even got Triple Crown at M Countdown. WINNER became the only rookie group that got on top 25 physical album sales on Gaon Year-End Chart (Rank 24). Their digital sales also ranked as number 3 on 2014 after BIGBANG and Beast.

They were entitled as Monster Rookie as they were winning 5 trophies Best New Artist Award form Melon Music Award, Mnet Asian Music Award, SBS Award Festival, Golden Disk Award and Gaon Chart Kpop Award. They also won Style Icon Award as New Icon, A-Awards as Men of The Year: New Rising, Tudou Young Choice Award as Most Popular Korean Group, and many more.
